And you're mates with Jamie Dornan?

Jack Savoretti: Yes, I was introduced to him through his wife Millie [actress and musician Amelia Warner], who is my sister Beatrice's friend. I met my wife Jemma at Millie's birthday party 10 years ago as they were in the movie Alpha Male together. Then Millie married Jamie, so we're close and his life has taken a crazy curve ball. He deserves his success. He's one of the hardest-working guys in show business.

Have you seen Fifty Shades of Grey?

Jack Savoretti: Not yet. I'm a huge fan of Jamie's and I think he's incredible in The Fall. I haven't got caught up in the Fifty Shades thing, but I want to see it, although it'll be a bit awkward. I don't know how kinky I want to watch him get!

How will you be seeing in the New Year?

Jack Savoretti: We'll still be with my dad. We spent last New Year with Jamie and Millie in a rented house in Devon. I used to get melancholy on New Year's Eve, but now that things are taking a turn for the up, I get really excited because I'm like: "What can I achieve this year?"

DailyStar: You’ve got a few famous friends like Rafe Spall and Jamie Dornan… 

Jack Savoretti: "My wife is an actress and she went to the National Youth Theatre with Rafe so I met him through that.

I met Jamie through another friends of mine, Amelia Warner, who is a wonderful actress and musician. We have all known each other since we were kids in our early 20s.

Only recently has Jamie been catapulted into stratospheric success. He has been working his socks off since the age of 18, so it is very well earned. And Rafe is one of the most gifted British actors around."

The Italian - English singer has a local celebrity fan in Co Down's Jamie Dornan who tweeted this year urging people to look up Jack's music.

He said: "Jamie, he's an old friend we've been friends for 4 or 5 years.

"Anything he touches he's very good at and he's just has incredible success.

"He's not exactly a proactive twitter account user and we were laughing saying he's literally tweeted about 3 times in the last year and two of those have been about this record."

He added: "I'm just grateful that he's been sweet enough and kind enough to push it."
