He has had roles in Taken 2 and Clint Eastwood's American Sniper, where the veteran director taught this young blood the value of stillness in a scene, but it is in the first Fifty Shades movie that he has made real impact - and he will appear in the sequel, too, which is now filming.

Surprisingly, however, for a young gun with big ambitions, Grimes turned down the lead role of Christian Grey.

"It just wasn't for me and I knew that," Grimes has said. "I wouldn't want to get myself in a position where I'm bumming people out because I'm not performing the way they want me to." He thinks Jamie Dornan is the perfect guy for the job and confesses: "He's a braver man than I."

WWD: Like the rest of the “Fifty Shades” cast, Grimes has been sworn to secrecy ahead of the movie’s Feb. 13 U.S. release, but he noted that co-stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson bear the brunt of the hype.

“I’m OK with it, you know. I don’t have as big a responsibility as Jamie and Dakota do. If I were one of them, I’d be feeling pretty nervous right now,” he said.

But Luke Grimes, although handsome—almost absurdly so, with a mug you could set your watch to—is not so conventional in terms of Hollywood actors. Sure, he’s playing the Christian Grey’s brother, Elliot Grey, in Fifty Shades of Grey and opposite Bradley Cooper in Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, but you’d never guess Mr. Grimes is on the brink of superstardom.

E! Online - Luke Grimes is spilling Fifty Shades of Grey secrets!

The 30-year-old hottie opened up about the forthcoming film, which is based on the titillating best-selling trilogy by author E.L. James.

"It's great. I'm really excited to be a part of it," the Taken 2 star told E! News while looking dapper in a sharp black suit before admitting, "I did not read the books, but I read the script, so I got the idea."

"I haven't really had to deal with much of that," he revealed before admitting that his fellow co-stars have most likely encountered their fair share of crazy fans. "I'm sure Jamie [Dornan] and Dakota [Johnson] are getting quite a bit of that though."
