Belfast Telegraph - Filming for the second series of hit Belfast-based crime thriller The Fall is set to begin tomorrow, with Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson warning it will contain the drama’s most shocking scenes yet
The Former X Files star, 45, who plays steely DSI Stella Gibson, warned viewers to “expect the unexpected” in the “shocking” six-episode sequel.
The Hannibal actress is expected to jet into Northern Ireland this week, alongside Co Down actor Jamie Dornan, who plays serial killer Paul Spector. Filming will take place over four months, with cast and crew sworn to secrecy over shoot locations.
Gillian said: “I’ve read the scripts and viewers are going to be so shocked. I can’t give anything away except to tell you to expect the unexpected. You won’t believe what’s going to happen.”
And the actress couldn’t hide her delight at working alongside the Holywood-born hunk again, who was cast as kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the big screen version of literary sensation Fifty Shades of Grey.
“It’s such a friendly place and I love filming there,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to catching up with Jamie Dornan. His career has just taken off. Look how well he is doing. It’s going to be so good. He’s done so well.”
Initially it was hoped filming would take place in January, but work commitments for both the actress and former Calvin Klein model saw the shoot put back until February.
Dornan, who became a new dad in November, wrapped up filming on the Vancouver film set of the Sam Taylor Johnson film a couple of weeks ago.
However the movie, which sees American actress Dakota Johnson take on the role of student Anastasia Steele, is not due to be released until Valentine’s Day next year.
On Friday it was announced that he has been nominated for this year's breakthrough award at the 40th annual Broadcasting Press Guild Awards, with Gillian Anderson being shortlisted for the best actress category.
The Fall also received nods for best drama series and best writer.
