Kim Basinger to Play Elena Lincoln in 'Fifty Shades' Sequels
Variety - Universal has now locked in its first new cast member to join its highly successful “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise, with production set to start this spring.
Kim Basinger is in talks to land the key role of Elena Lincoln, Christian Grey’s Business partner and former lover in E.L James’ “Fifty Shades Darker,” sources tell Variety.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are returning to reprise their roles of Anastasia Steele and Grey, respectively, with James Foley taking over directing reigns.
Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini are also returning to the cast, with James, Marcus Viscidi, Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca producing. Niall Leonard and James are penning the script.
The character of Lincoln was hinted at in the first installment, setting the stage for a big reveal in the second.
Universal is planning to shoot “Fifty Shades Darker” and the final pic, “Fifty Shades Freed,” back-to-back, so it was important to lock down cast before production began on the sequel.

New Fan Pictures and Video of Jamie on 'The Fall' Set (January 27) + Jamie Talks About Meeting Heather Mack
Article
Belfast Live - It was like a scene out of Surprise Surprise when this Co Antrim woman got to meet heartthrob Jamie Dornan.
Heather Mack, from Maghaberry, was blown away when she came face to face with the 50 Shades of Grey actor thanks to the hard work of staff at Stepping Stones NI.
The 34-year-old's dream was to meet the Holywood star and when she shared this with staff at the Lisburn charity, where she is a trainee, they did what they could to make it happen.
Paula Jennings, the charity's Chief Officer, and Ciara Brennan, the Marketing & Business Development Manager, made it their mission to find Jamie.
"I always knew Heather was a massive fan of Jamie, last week when I popped into Pink Elephant Cards and got chatting to Heather she told me of her dream to meet Jamie Dornan," said Paula.
"So I said then we will make it happen not knowing how! It wasn’t until later I heard Jamie was filming in Belfast, and then I knew we had to make Heathers dream come true."
When the actor heard of the charity's plea to make Heather’s dream come true, he happily stepped in.
Jamie arranged for Heather to meet him on the set of the BBC show The Fall after hearing her story.
Heather was completely over the moon with the surprise from the charity, she said: "I have been a fan of Jamie for a long time but I never imagined my dream to meet him would actually come true. It was amazing to meet him and I am grateful to everyone who made it happen."
Heather presented Jamie a picture frame for his new baby due to arrive in the next few weeks made by trainees at Stepping Stones NI and a thank you card which she made at Pink Elephant Cards.
"It was a real pleasure to invite Heather down to the set of The Fall. She is a fantastic girl and it was wonderful to meet her," said Jamie.
Stepping Stones NI an organisation that provides training towards employment for people with learning disabilities.
Heather is a trainee wedding stationery crafter in Pink Elephant Cards a social enterprise of the charity.
