'Adam Jones' Now Titled As 'Untitled John Wells Project'
Deadline - The latest dish on the John Wells-directed cooking project with Bradley Cooper once called Chef: Harvey Weinstein has sent the just-announced title Adam Jones back to the kitchen. They’ll call it Untitled John Wells project until they whip up something tastier. All this arose when they were beaten to the table by Jon Favreau’s food truck film, and their plan to call the film Chef deflated like a bad souffle.
“Even though our writer Steven Knight claims we had the rights first, Jon Favreau killed us and made a great movie that we all love,” Weinstein told Deadline but wouldn’t say what potential titles were now on the menu. “And while our film deals with cooking it’s about different things… We tried to get Lee Daniels’ Chef Movie but Warner Brothers got there first and didn’t give it to us, so now we’re calling it the Untitled John Wells project.”
Weinstein was joking about last summer’s drama, when Warner Bros lawyers blocked TWC’s ask to use the title The Butler because WB had an early 20th century silent black and white short film in its library. It seemed like an apparent attempt to leverage Weinstein into surrendering his claim to first dollar gross points on The Hobbit trilogy (like that would ever happen). Weinstein had the last laugh when he used the title Lee Daniels’ The Butler which, helped by the attention from the title fight, grossed $160 million worldwide on a $30 million production budget.
The Wells-directed culinary pic just started, shooting a couple days in New Orleans before moving to London. Cooper plays a bad boy Michelin Star enfant terrible chef who self destructs in Paris and has to repair his career and life. Sienna Miller and Uma Thurman, Daniel Bruhl, Emma Thompson, Omar Sy, Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan and Alicia Vikander star. Knight wrote the script and Stacy Sher, Michael Shamberg and Erwin Stoff produce, with Dylan Sellers, Julie Rapaport and Negeen Yazdi overseeing for Weinstein.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Trailer Tops All Films on Social Media This Year
Variety - Saints are no match for sin on Facebook.
The “Fifty Shades of Grey” trailer surpassed a pair of religious films, “Son of God” and “Heaven is for Real,” to become the most active film year to date on the social media platform in the first 24 hours since it was released, according to data compiled by ListenFirst Media.
The full trailer received 1.2 million Facebook likes, shares and comments since its Thursday morning debut on NBC’s “Today,” leading the film to outperform all other non-franchise films released since January 2013.
In the first 24 hours since the spicy trailer’s launch, the social media platforms for the “Fifty Shades” film gained steam by attracting 986,000 new followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With still six months until its theatrical release, the film now has more than 3.9 million fans on its social media platforms.
Since the trailer’s launch, “Fifty Shades” has received 374,000 Twitter mentions, according to data from FirstListen, who considered both hashtags and keywords referring to the pic. This compared to the 237,000 Twitter mentions this summer’s romantic drama “The Fault in Our Stars” received the day it opened in theaters.
It made waves overseas as well in the first 24 hours since release, garnering 5.9 million views on The Universal UK YouTube channel in addition to the already 6.6 million views on the film’s YouTube channel powered in the U.S.
The most active demographic on Facebook that responded to “Fifty Shades” was 25 to 34-year-old women, according to data pulled by TV ad tracker iSpot.tv from social intelligence firm Wayin. “Fifty Shades,” which shares the young adult women demographic with “The Fault in Our Stars” surpassed the amount of mentions that “Fault” received on Twitter.
Universal’s film bows in theaters Feb. 13, 2015.

Jamie Confirmed for 'Adam Jones' + Uma Thurman Joins The Cast
THR - The Weinstein Co. recently changed the name of the film, which also stars Sienna Miller, Daniel Bruhl and Emma Thompson, from "Chef."
Uma Thurman has signed on to join Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller in The Weinstein Co.'s Adam Jones, which just kicked off principal photography.
The film, which was originally titled Chef, follows a rock-star chef (Cooper) who is known for his wild style and creating explosions of taste. Hoping to land his own kitchen and that elusive third Michelin star, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Miller).
Daniel Bruhl, Riccardo Scamarcio, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Omar Sy, Jamie Dornan, Sam Keeley, Sarah Greene and Alicia Vikander also star.
The film, directed by John Wells, will spend two days shooting in New Orleans before continuing in London from July 27 to September 26.

Variety: 5 Sexy Secrets from the ‘Fifty Shades’ Trailer
Variety - Helicopters! Elevators! Beds! Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele travel to such erotic venues in the first trailer for “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which Universal Studios unveiled on “Today” on Thursday morning. Here are five things we learned about the film, which opens on Valentine’s Day 2015.
(1) Jamie Dornan > Charlie Hunnam. There was pandemonium when Hunnam suddenly bailed on playing Christian Grey last fall, but it might have been a blessing in disguise for Universal. Hunnam looked disheveled when he recently appeared at TCA, to promote his TV series “Sons of Anarchy.” On the other hand, Jamie Dornan, a former male model, makes for a more plausible kinky businessman. He seems to be interpreting the role as a cross between Robert Pattinson in “Twilight” and Tom Cruise circa “Eyes Wide Shut.” This could work. And his abs, which are briefly on display, earn an A+, according to our panel of experts.
(2) This is Dakota Johnson’s movie. I’ve been skeptical about whether she could carry her first major film role, especially given her limited onscreen film parts in “The Social Network” and “Need for Speed” (where she barely registered). But Johnson, who opens the first 45 seconds of the trailer, seems up for the task of projecting Anastasia’s vulnerability. I especially like the way she scrunches down in her blue cardigan sweater before her first meeting with Christian. And she doesn’t flinch with terrible lines like, “There’s really not much to know about me — look at me!” Speaking of which...
(3) The dialogue will be as cheesy as “Twilight.” Exhibit A: “I’m incapable of leaving you alone.” “Then don’t!” Also, director Sam Taylor-Wood films Christian and Anastasia in the woods, with the sun streaming through the branches, like they are a grown-up version of Edward and Bella.
(4) The sex is still a question mark. “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which will be rated R, can’t be as explicit as E.L. James’ pornographic books. The trailer downplays the story’s eroticism, with merely a glimpse of Dakota tied up, making a not-safe-for-morning-TV sound.
(5) Beyonce’s remixed “Crazy in Love” is a good anthem for this story. But it would have been even better if she had a cameo in the film.
Trailer Grade: B+
THR: 5 Things to Know About 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Trailer
THR - Oh my.
The Internet was abuzz after the first trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey was released Thursday morning (both #FiftyShadesTrailer and Christian Grey were top trending topics on Twitter).
The trailer marks fans' first look at the adaptation of EL James' best-selling erotic novel. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson star as troubled billionaire Christian Grey and naive college student Anastasia Steele in the Universal Pictures/Focus Features movie, which hits theaters Feb. 13.
The trailer keeps the focus entirely on Anastasia and Christian and their budding relationship, with other characters played by Marcia Gay Harden and Rita Ora shown only in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
Here are five other things we observed about the movie:
1. Anastasia's (much-derided) catchphrase is nowhere to be heard.
The character has a penchant for saying "oh my" while learning about — and taking part in — Christian's extracurricular (read: BDSM) activities. In fact, she says it so much that readers took to the Internet to mock its overuse (one Amazon commenter who counted says she uses it 72 times in the first book alone). Still, it remains to be seen whether she will slip in the phrase in the actual movie.
2. "Mr. Grey will see you now."
Anastasia's first meeting with Christian — when she visits his office to interview him for her college newspaper — is a significant part of the trailer. That's the meeting during which he begins to take a strange fascination with her. "What about you? I'd like to know more about you?" he asks her. "There's really not much to know about me. I mean, look at me," she says. His reply? A very intense "I am."
3. Jamie Dornan is shirtless, of course.
Yes, the former male model does doff his shirt in the trailer — although presumably he'll strip down further for the actual movie, which is aiming for an R rating. Apparently deemed too racy for morning TV, the trailer was shown only partially in its debut on NBC's Today (the bondage scenes were left out).
4. The Red Room of Pain makes a (very brief) appearance.
Toward the end of the trailer, Anastasia asks Christian to "enlighten me" after he explains that his "tastes are very singular." He unlocks the door, and voila! For the next four seconds, we see flashes of Anastasia bound and blindfolded. We see the red leather couch. We see the riding crop (but no whipping). We see Anastasia let out a loud sigh of pleasure. And … cut to black.
5. Beyonce is indeed part of the soundtrack.
The singer posted a teaser about the movie Monday on her Instagram, which led to speculation about her involvement with the soundtrack. On Thursday, it was confirmed that she re-recorded her 2003 hit "Crazy in Love" featuring now-husband Jay Z for the movie. This new version is a much slower, stripped-down rendition of the song — and no Jay Z to be heard.

Rumor: Jamie Joins The Cast of 'Adam Jones'
Update: Added The Wrap and The Tracking Board articles
Daily Mail - Sienna Miller will play a sous chef in the new Bradley Cooper film Adam Jones.
Cooper plays the title character: a genius cook who returns to London after a period away from the kitchen, detoxifying.
Now he wants a third Michelin star, and assembles an A-list line-up to help him.
Many of the actors spent a day with Marcus Wareing at his two Michelin-starred Marcus restaurant at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge, to prepare for their roles.
Adam Jones, which has a script by Steven Knight, will start filming soon, in and around London.
Director John Wells and his casting team, with help no doubt from producer Harvey Weinstein, have gathered a cast that includes Emma Thompson, Daniel Bruhl, Riccardo Scamarcio (Italy’s answer to Brad Pitt), Lily James, Jamie Dornan and Alicia Vikander.
Cooper told me about Adam Jones (then titled Chef) two years ago. In the meantime, Jon Favreau made his own foodie movie, also called Chef, which has developed a cult following.
